Robert Schumann's native town, Zwickau, is host to the choir competition bearing his name. The events take place in the concert hall and ball room "Neue Welt" (New World) in Zwickau, an Art-Nouveau-style hall, rich in tradition. The competition will take place in honour of the 150th day of death  of Robert Schumann and carries the motto of one of his personal rules for life: "Honour the ancient traditions,but welcome the new ones warm-heartedly, too."
